New Zealand Ice Hockey League

Stefan KingThe New Zealand Ice Hockey League is the premier ice hockey competition in New Zealand. The league currently consists of five teams, two from Auckland, one from Canterbury and two from the Southern region.

The Southern Stampede and the Dunedin Thunder are the representative teams for the Southern Ice Hockey League. Stampede were the 2005 and 2006 champions, and Thunder were a new team to the competition in 2008. Players from all clubs within the southern region are eligible to play for both teams.

Helping the DIHA

The Dunedin Ice Hockey Association Board of Directors meets on the first Monday of every month at the Dunedin Ice Stadium. If you are interested in being involved with the committee and organising hockey events in Dunedin then please contact the DIHA secretary.
