Thank you to all those who helped with Quiz Night

I wanted to say a huge thank you for all those involved in the inaugural Dunedin Ice Hockey Associations Quiz and auction night. It turned out to be a great night and a hell of a lot of fun for all.

Andrea Kaszala did a fantastic job of organising the whole event. Her knack of being able to coax prizes and things to auction out of people is becoming legendary. A big thank you must go out to all those who donated things for the auction and those who purchased. Michael Johnstone did an admirable job of being the auctioneer. A big thank you to all those who brought food and all those who helped present it to the hungry crowd. James and Natalie van Leeuwan did a great job behind the bar. Cy Newton also loaned his projection screen to us. Janos proved that his skills reach beyond the ice and has possibly found a new vocation in life after he retires. He made for a very good quizz master who cunningly added to the complexity of the questions with his use of some “funny” accent as he put it.

It was a closely fought quizz with the “Balaclava Beavers” taking it out. Rumour had it before the quiz that the referees “Stars and stripes” might sneak in but they were undone (as were the mighty “PNG SNC” team) by what the real names of the actors who play the desperate house wives were. Who know that? 🙂

What a great fun way to get everyone from through out the club together, raise funds for the club and have a good laugh. Thanks again to all that helped out.

I have had many people come to me and ask to sign up for the next one already so count on it being at least an annual event,

Cheers and thank you again
