Dunedin Ice Hockey Association U16 Skills Development Camp

This school holidays the DIHA will be hosting an under 16 (ages 8 – 15) skills development camp open to players of all ability and experience.

The camp will be run by Jenel Bode. Jenel has 20 plus years of competive hockey experience, including Division I Ivy league in the USA and Womens National League in Canada, where Bode has played amongst the top olympic athletes in the World for her sport. She has coached for 10 years in Canada as a skills development coach, as well as an assistant coach for the Calgary University Womens team and U16 provincial boys team. In 2007-2008, Jenel was the professional coach for the Dunedin Ice Hockey Association as well as the Dunedin Thunder.

Jenel’s coaching focuses on the technical skills of ice hockey; skating, shooting, puck handling and passing. The camp will also include game and game-like situations to encompass team and positional skills. The camp will provide a sound basis for young ice hockey players to develop their individual skills and push to higher levels.
