Apply to coach the 2015 Southern Friendship Team

The Southern Ice Hockey League (SIHL) is seeking applications for Coach and Assistant Coach for the Southern 2015 Friendship Tournament team.

About the Friendship Tournament

The Friendship Tournament is a friendly ice event hockey event held every 2 years in a different country. It brings peewee teams from all over the world. The tournament is not meant to be competitive. It emphasises:

  • fairplay ;
  • sportsmanship ;
  • and cultural exchange.

Current state of the team

The SIHL has appointed Murray Miller (Alexandra) as Team Manager and Donna Stewart (Queenstown) as Tour Manager. Trials have been held and a squad of 20 players has been selected. Whilst team numbers are meant to be held to 17 we have approval from the organisers to extend to 20.

Remuneration for the position

Positions of Coach and Assistant Coach are unpaid. Travel and accommodation at the Tournament is provided together with accommodation during any team travel pre or after tournament.

  • a brief outline of the applicant ;
  • playing / coaching credentials ;
  • a brief outline of why this position holds appeal.

The appointment committee will comprise Charlie, Murray and Donna and the appointment will be confirmed by SIHL. Applications close 15th August 2015
