Thunder Games this Weekend

After splitting their opening games last weekend in Christchurch, Thunder return home this weekend to take on 2011 Champions Botany Swarm. Come out and support the boys. Game times are 5pm Saturday, 4pm Sunday.

A fortnight after that they’ll be hosting regional rivals Queenstown’s Southern Stampede on 15 and 16 June, and then 29 and 30 June sees Canterbury Red Devils return to Dunedin, in a bumper weekend of hockey as Southern U16s will be taking on Canterbury U16s in the NZJEL that weekend as well.

 

Winter DIHL

Signups are now open for Winter DIHL which is 7 games of ice hockey for $84, played on Sunday nights. To get in a team get onto club hub now (https://www.clubhubssl.com/hubsystem/index.php?&fuseaction=register.options&callclub=DIHA&cset=Y) and make a purchase of Winter DIHL.

 

Paying Club Fees

A number of people are racking up some club fees that we need to see paid off. Anyone who wants to play Winter DIHL and hasn’t yet paid registration or Autumn DIHL or Premier League fees will need to do so. To check how much you owe log into club hub (https://www.clubhubssl.com/hubsystem/index.php?&fuseaction=register.options&callclub=DIHA&cset=Y) and to pay the bill drop money into the scorebox or money box in the gear room, or automatic payment to the club bank account, Dunedin Ice Hockey Association, 06 0911 0025989 00.

If you have sizeable fees and won’t be able to pay them immediately, please contact our club treasurer Mike Johnston to sort out a payment scheme. Email him on treasurer@dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi.

 

July School Holiday Camp

Janos will be running his July School Holiday Camp for youth players this coming school holidays, 15 – 19 July. Cost will be $150. Keep that week free in order to attend, registration information will be out soon.

 

Dunedin Club Uniforms

Anyone who wants to purchase a set of club top and socks, please contact Barrett Wilson on operations@dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi. The uniform costs $90 for new, we sometimes have available second hand sets which will be $65. We also purchase old tops for $25 which can be credited to your club hub account.

 

Returning Club Tops

Anyone who has a club top from a club night or previous DIHL, please return this to Barrett or to the gear room. These are not to be held onto as we need them for DIHL teams.

 

Goalie Gear

A message from Alexandra:

Our son Joe plays goalie for the Alexandra Flames Peewee team.  At present he is wearing standard player pants but we would like to get him into proper goalie pants.  We are finding it extremely difficult to source these so we were hoping we may be able to buy some second hand ones.  Joe tried on some of the Queenstown goalies pants and the Bauer Supreme One95 Men’s M 32-36 were a perfect fit.  We are happy to go for any brand.
