Ice Blacks vs Luxembourg

The New Zealand Ice Blacks faced Luxembourg in their first home game of the IIHF World Ice Hockey Championships Division III tournament being held in Dunedin. The Ice Blacks were the favourites to win the tournament and scored their first goal seven minutes into the game, but the Luxembourg team kept them honest with a 1 – 1 score line at the end of the first period. They eaked out a one goal lead for a 3 – 2 score line at the end of the second period. The third period however saw the Ice Blacks show why they are the favourites by scoring four goals in the third period to finish it up 7-2. The Ice Blacks next game is on Satuday at 8:00pm against Turkey.
